The Department of Pediatric Surgery, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, and The Ohio State University College of Medicine is offering a research scientist / post-doctoral fellowship position for a highly qualified Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. to provide assistance in ongoing research and to expand and develop new projects.

This NIH-funded laboratory is currently involved in pre-clinical studies of stem cells, exosomes, growth factors and probiotics in intestinal injury models, with the goal of advancement to clinical trials in neonates with necrotizing enterocolitis. Another major area of focus is in the production of tissue engineered intestine. The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, is a leader in pediatric research and NIH funding.

The preferred candidate will have previous experience in whole animal surgical skills as well as cell biology and molecular biology. Experience in animal models of intestinal injury, exosome biology, and/or tissue engineering is preferred. Candidates must have strong skills and strong commitment. Position available to start immediately.
