A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately to join a multi-disciplinary laboratory performing basic and translational research in neurodegenerative diseases, with an emphasis on Parkinson’s disease.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has significant Neuroscience bench research experience and who can work independently as well as part of a team. The laboratory uses various rodent and cell culture models, as well as human post mortem tissues, to study mechanisms of disease and to evaluate potential new disease modifying therapies.

Requirements: A Ph.D. in neuroscience or a closely related field is required. Required skills include proficiency in mouse/rat handling, small animal surgery (stereotaxic surgery), rodent behavioral testing, microtome/cryostat sectioning of brain tissue, immunohistochemistry, and cell culture experience (cell lines and/or primary neurons). Experience in neurochemistry (use of HPLC), in situ hybridization histochemistry, and Western blotting is a plus. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to details, as well as excellent communication and time management skills, are also required.

This is a full-time job with salary commensurate with qualifications.
