The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine is seeking an innovative educator with energy and commitment to medical, graduate and Masters-level student education. This 12-month, full-time non-tenure track faculty position will function as the departmental expert on education, will provide leadership and oversight for the development and evaluation of degree programs, and will transition into the role of Course Director for the department's physiology courses.

The College of Medicine is undergoing a major renewal of its medical and graduate curriculums and the renovation of its distributed model of education. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering teaching material on physiology. The selected individual will also have administrative responsibilities including coordination with other courses, generation of appropriate evaluation tools, serving on relevant committees, and cross-campus collaborations. The successful candidate must be interested in curriculum development and working collaboratively with like-minded and talented individuals across the department and College. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in physiology or related field. Previous experience in teaching graduate or medical school physiology or related courses, with understanding of the technology available to teach physiology is strongly recommended. Preference will be given to those who have participated in curricular renewal/redesign and have a record of educational scholarship.
