The University of Kentucky is seeking a talented individual to lead the Diversity and Inclusion efforts of the College of Medicine. The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion will be a key member of the Dean’s senior administrative team with oversight for all diversity and inclusion activities which support medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty and staff members of the College of Medicine.

The Associate Dean will create and implement a strategic diversity plan for the College of Medicine that is consistent with the University of Kentucky’s strategic initiatives and actively works to create and advance a faculty and student body representative of the economically and socially diverse state of Kentucky. The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion will lead efforts that advance signature diversity programs and initiatives that align with the College’s broad definition of diversity and its commitment to creating an inclusive academic and patient-centered care environment. The Associate Dean will work collaboratively with other health science colleges’ diversity and inclusion efforts in the development of inter-professional pipeline programs and other activities. In addition to administrative duties, the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion will participate as a faculty member with limited roles of teaching and scholarship based on the selected candidate’s discipline.

The Associate Dean must possess a doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to the College of Medicine and be able to demonstrate expertise in the individual’s discipline in higher education. Experience in higher education administration is preferred. Distribution of effort in addition to the role for Diversity and Inclusion, as well as tenure eligibility and title series, will be determined based on qualifications of selected candidate.
